Coogs suffer another heartbreak

A furious rally in the third quarter went to waste as Tomball saw DeKaney come back in the fourth to take the lead and post a 41-39 win against the Cougars.

The Cougars, which scored 19 straight points in the third quarter to take the lead after trailing at halftime, were led by Justin Dvorak’s 380 yards on 34-of-55 passing, with two touchdowns and an interception.

Making the two-point loss even tougher is that the Cougars went for two – twice – in the game and failed to convert.

The loss drops the Cougars to 2-5 with three games left. Tomball plays its next two games at Klein Memorial Stadium, first against Klein Oak on Thursday night, then against Klein on Saturday, Oct. 29. The finish the season at home against Klein Forest on Nov. 4.
