The Tomball Cougars waited seven years to make the playoffs. They’re in no hurry to leave.
Tomball defeated Kingwood 27-3 Friday night at Thorne Stadium to advance to the next round of the playoffs.
Next up for Tomball is a road trip to Brenham on Friday night for a playoff game against Anderson Austin. The 7:30 p.m. game is at Brenham High School, at 1600 East Tom Green Street.
Justin Dvorak threw to three different targets for touchdowns and ran for another to lead an offense that outgained Kingwood 390 yards to 123.
Kingwood was unable to complete a single pass in the game, managing only two pass attempts — and one of those was intercepted.
Dvorak dominated for Tomball, passing for 148 yards and rushing for 122 more. Brandon Green added 77 yards rushing.
