Varsity Lady Coogs fall to Oak

Not all of the excitement Friday night in Tomball was for the football team, as the volleyball squad had a key matchup against a district rival.

“Klein Oak is one of our biggest rivals,” senior setter April McCain said.

The team came in confident but the varsity team lost a very tight three games.  Thanks to junior Sydney Ziober’s kills and junior Tiffany Kroll sets, Tomball kept the score close.

Junior hitter Roxanne McVey and senior hitter Sarah Temperilli earned ace after ace because of their unexpected jump serves. But the Lady Coogs fell short in the final chance to challenge the Panthers for the district crown.

JV had a different turnout. They had prepared for this matchup for weeks and it showed. Klein Oak’s JV was undefeated in district entering Friday night, but the Lady Cougars dominated them in just two games with determination and enthusiasm.

The Freshmen A team also beat Oak in only two games. Freshmen B did not play last Friday.

The season ends Tuesday night as the Lady Cougars play at Westfield. The Freshmen B team will be playing this time, and the games will be at  their normal times.
