Tomball football runs streak to 4

The game wasn’t perfect, but Tomball’s record is.

Brian Angelle ran for two touchdowns, including a 49-yard scramble in the fourth quarter that helped seal a hard-fought win against previously unbeaten Westfield as Tomball won 37-30 Friday night at Cougar Stadium.

The win lifted the Cougars to a 4-0 record and a 1-0 district mark.

Dillon Duarte provided three field goals and was perfect on his four extra-point attempts for Tomball.

Justin Dvorak completed eight of 22 passes for 82 yards, with an interception. He was held without a touchdown pass for the first time this season, but the rushing game came through insteead as Angelle, Dvorak and Brandon Green accounted for 284 rushing yards and all four of the team’s touchdowns.

The Cougars are on the road next Saturday at 4 p.m. against division rival Spring.
