Tomball Cougar Pride Band will be competing at the Galena Park Contest tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. in the GPISD athletic stadium.

Last week the band won 7th place at the Friendswood contest where they competed against 12 other bands. This week they will be competing against 30 other schools, who all range from 4a to a 6a district.

“We might have a chance to place in the top 5 this contest coming up because we got enough time to thoroughly work out all the sets and add the prop,” freshman Braden Soeraet said

They will continue performing parts 1,2, and 3 of Celestial Journey but will include the main focus of the show, the steel globe, in Saturday’s performance.

Looking to place in a higher status, the band is pushing harder to make it happen. As contests continue, nerves start to go down and the confidence levels rise.

“I think I, along with much of the band, are more confident going into our second contest because we all have the experience and know what to expect,” sophomore William Klein said.
