Safety takes priority over Exam Exemptions

Everyone is greatly encouraged to stay home when they are feeling sick, but many kids are coming to school knowing that they do not feel well because they do not want to risk the possibility of not  exempting their exams.

“If you are not feeling good we encourage them to stay home” Associate Principal Mark Vierkant said.

There will be appeals on exemptions for those who were absent and have a valid reasoning.

“We are definitely going to be taking all [medical excuses] into consideration,” Vierkant said.

There will be a form available for you to fill out explaining why you have extenuating circumstances and documentation – such as a doctor’s note – supporting your reasoning.

Things could always change but for now the school will follow the district exam exemption policy.
