Homecoming Game has been moved to Friday, Nov 20, rather than next Friday. This is the last scheduled home game of the season, and the Coogs will now face Klein Cain instead of Klein Collins.

This change of dates will eliminate conflicts during halftime and give more time for Homecoming preparations, though there is still no dance.

“It was [going to be] a quick turnaround from the Patriotic Game to the Homecoming game,” Principal Chris Scott said. “We wanted to give ourselves a bit more time.”

The Virtual Parade, presented by Student Council, has also been moved to accommodate this new schedule for Homecoming, premiering on Wednesday, Nov. 18.

“It’s unprecedented; we’ve never done anything like the [virtual parade] before,” Scott said. “We want to do something special to create that spirit, and I’m looking forward to seeing the product.”

This also means that Homecoming no longer coincides with Red Ribbon Week, so each week will have different dress up days. Check back with us later this week for more information on the dress up days for both weeks.

Not only is this the last home game of this football season, but it’s also the last football game in the Cougar Stadium, as the new stadium is set to be open for the 2021 season.

“It’s going to be even more special because it’s the last home game of the season,” Scott said. “It gives everyone a chance to come back to Cougar Stadium and be a part of that culminating game.”
