Help needed for concession stand

Kirbie Morrow, Staff Writer

Judy Bowers, vice president of the PTO and the person in charge of volleyball and basketball concession, is reaching out to students to volunteer for the concession stand. There have been several times when Bowers has had to work the concession stand by herself and it can be tricky.

Funds from the concession stand don’t go unused. They go towards the honor roll luncheon to buy students their Chick-fil-A meals and help the PTO with other things that benefit students. The PTO served almost 900 sandwiches at the first luncheon of the school year and 2 more luncheons are scheduled for 2018.

When you volunteer, there are many different things you help with: Students help serve food and drinks, bake Otis Spunkmeyer cookies, make nachos, frito pies, hot dogs, and popcorn. At the end of the night, students will assist in washing dishes and will restock any items that are low.

Students can use this as volunteer hours. If you are interested in volunteering for the the concession stand, stop by Ms. Dio’s room (1205) and sign up for a shift.
