It’s a busy time for seniors

Izzy Cross, Staff writer

The year is winding down, senioritis is starting to kick in, and graduation is looming ever nearer on the horizon. However, before we can walk the stage in June, there are still some things happening:

1. Scholarships are available in Naviance. Local scholarships have been posted in Naviance, including those from local organizations, colleges, and those based on merit, need, or athletics. There is a great variety available, and every little bit counts when paying for college. Deadlines are approaching on many of these scholarships, so be sure to check them out and get your applications in before it’s too late.

2. Lone Star College Tomball is visiting on Wednesday, March 8th. LSC-Tomball will be visiting tomorrow. They will also be here on the 10th and the 23rd. Any seniors who are interested in attending Lone Star next year or would like more information can register for the visit on Naviance. See Mrs. Nichols in the career center for more information.

3. Voting for senior superlative finalists has been posted to Naviance. The results from nominations have been tallied and the finalists from each category have been posted to Naviance. Seniors need to vote on the survey found in Naviance, which can be found under the “about me” tab. Voting will close today, February 28th. If any seniors want their names taken off a category, they need to let Mr. Vierkant know ASAP.

4. Turn in your senior achievement forms. Seniors should have received a form during their math classes on which they can list their  clubs, major achievements, and awards received during high school, and add a senior quote if they wish. [The quote must be appropriate. Any that are inappropriate will not be included.] If you did not receive a form, you can get one from your math teacher or stop in Room 1201. These forms need to be turned in this week.

And remember, there are less than 100 days until graduation!
