Break-in at the Park, Swim Team equipment stolen

The local pool located at Jerry-Matheson park was broken into last Monday night. The perpetrators forced entry, swam in the pool, and stole 2500$ to 3500$ worth of equipment that the swim team was using for their season.

It has been determined that the thieves or thief are not experienced, as the equipment is useless to anyone but a swim team. It would be near impossible to pawn or repurpose for personal use, yet to the team, this equipment was necessary to their season.

“The real loser in this situation is the kids that depend on  this equipment to train and practice,” said Coach Vestel, who manages the swim team.

Some of the items stolen belonged to the city, including first aid equipment and other miscellaneous items. There was also damage to the facility where the thieves had forced entry.

“We’re in the heart of our season, about two weeks before our first meet, and the equipment we depend on and use is no longer available anymore,” Vestel said.

The Tomball PD are currently looking for anyone with information about the perpetrators, and anyone who can aid with the recovery of equipment should report it immediately.

“We really need that equipment for the team, as long as we don’t have it we can’t host any competitions,” David Roscero, a member of the team, said.
