Update September 15 2011: The Tomball high school March of Dimes fundraiser has been named 8th on the list of the top 50 teams in the Houston division. This position was earned due to their combined fund raising of over 9000.
Last year’s March of Dimes fundraiser surpassed all expectations to the tune of around $10,000, much to the delight of those involved. The high school was named the Top New Team in Houston for 2011, and has recently been ranked amongst the Top 50 Teams in the entire Houston Division.
“I didn’t expect this at all,” said Allie Pruett, English IV teacher and spearhead of the fundraiser. “Houston is the number one division in the country, so it was quite an accomplishment.”
Pruett is “really looking forward to beating goals from last year”, and aspires to raise $13,000 at this year’s march. She was awarded the title of Top Fundraiser of the Year for being Team Captain last year.
