Tips for high school job-seekers

Writing a resume for your first job can be intimidating at first but with practice and effort it will get a whole lot easier
When trying to get employed, remember too much is too much. The employer doesn’t want to know every single detail in your life, just the basics.
Some examples are community service hours, skills you hold, past working experiences and any additional information regarding that specific profession.
Balancing schoolwork and a job is not always easy. The two require so much time and effort that it is difficult to focus equally on both. Education should always be a priority, but making a little extra money on the side never hurt.
The key to juggling work hours and school hours is to stay organized. A planner can help with keeping track of when you get off of school. Now, homework is a different problem. Lots of students take AP classes and have tons of homework, but an easy way to make sure it gets done is to do it in break time.
Another great idea is to look for an internship.
Even though you won’t be getting paid, having an internship is a great learning opportunity and which may create many job openings.
Some places may see the work you do as an intern and hire you off of that later in time.
