Texas Renaissance Festival underway

The Texas Renaissance Festival is held every Saturday and Sunday, including Thanksgiving Friday, through Nov. 27.

RenFest, as its also called, is one of the largest, most acclaimed parks with over 500,000 guests passing through the gate into the authentic 55 acre 16th century English township.

Over 8 weekends, 400 shoppes, 200 performances, 20 stages and a world filled with kings, queens, lords, ladies, knights, nobles, fairies, elves, pirates, barbarians and other colorful characters will bring life into the park to satisfy any fancy.

Upon entering, flower crowns and turkey legs accompanied every guest along with a tremendous line for the face painting; not only a favorite for children and parent, but popular among elves and numerous pixies.

Further down the path is littered with merchants and tipsy barbarians.

For only a small fee of $10 you can take a photo with the Red Tailed Cobra and her trainers under a colorful gazebo decorated with ivy and flowers.
