Tips for Homecoming
Homecoming is right around the corner, and with that comes stress. So to relieve some of that I have a few tips for you. From finding a date to deciding what to wear, I am here to help you out.
Finding a date may not always be easy, especially if you’re not currently dating anyone. In the wise words of Bob Marley, “Don’t worry ‘bout a thing.” If you can’t find that one special person you want to go with, there’s nothing wrong with going with your good friends or even by yourself. However, if you have found someone and haven’t already asked them to the dance you might want to do that within the next few days.
Now, asking them could be as simple as, “Will you go to homecoming with me?” or as intricate as having as many moving, pre-planned parts as you want. You just have to know if the person you plan on asking is okay with a lot of attention or not.
Similar to asking someone to the dance, finding something to wear can be as simple or as complicated as you make it. I recommend thinking about how comfortable you’re going to be at this dance with whatever you’re wearing. Good places to look for dresses and dress shirts are Macy’s and Dillard’s. They both have great selections for decent prices. The Homecoming theme this year is James Bond, but you don’t have to dress according to the theme. Again, you can wear whatever you choose as long as it’s in dress code.
The dance is from 8:00 – 11:00, and tickets will be sold at all lunches from Sept. 7th to the 16th. Single tickets are $25 and couples tickets are $40, so have your money ready.
The biggest, most important thing to remember is to NOT over think anything and to just have fun!
