Acceptance letters bring excitement, stress

With the Spring semester coming to a close, 2016 seniors are looking forward to change. Now that their four years are complete, grads are well on their way to college.

While many students are still waiting on their letters, a few students have already been accepted to their dream school, thanks to early admissions.

“I was really excited when I visited the University of Texas, and when I finally got my acceptance letter and my 2020 banner, it just felt amazing,” said senior Sam Ortiz, who is majoring in Entry-Level Biology and hopes to go on to Pre-Med.

For many seniors, the concept of leaving Tomball is a hard one to grasp. Leaving their small hometown and finding new scenery leads to the anticipation of many.

“I’m excited to leave Tomball, is that rude to say?” said senior Alyssa Thompson, who got her acceptance letter to her top school, Texas A&M, in the mail.

Although the path to college is an exciting one, new outlooks and surfacing responsibilities are right around the corner.

“It’s intimidating, new responsibilities. Adults don’t stress how hard an adult life is for no reason,” Oritz said. “Something’s gotta be challenging for some reason, and that’s kind of scary and daunting but exciting. I’m excited to go for it, so let’s go!”
