Pros and Cons of high school employment

What are the perks and downfalls of having a job while going to high school? High school has many different things requiring your focus and attention.

School and homework require a lot of time and with going to work right after school you have little time to take care of your other responsibilities, or you’re rushing to finish once home so that you can get to bed and not be a walking zombie the next morning.

At the same time you are making money to be able to do other things like go out and have fun or save it for after high school.

Things you can pay for with your own money? Some of the more important reasons for having a job while going to high-school are; Gas money, work experience for the real world, food, college, and spending money. With having a job you get to use your money for whatever you want or need, and you get the needed experience for later on in life.

Although there are many upsides to having a job there are even more responsibilities, which includes less free time and more multi-tasking; with having a job in high-school you have to learn how to juggle.

This means going to work right after school, and not getting home until late, giving you less time for homework, chores, and friends. Grades also tend to suffer when you have to work so many hours a week and your schedule works more around your boss than as it does the individual.
It’s great to have a job, and there are many perks but there is always something on the flip side.
