As many gamers anxiously await the arrival of Battlefield 4, many are still in the dark about the new features and are just left with the question: will Battlefield 4 really be better than Battlefield 3? So to answer that The Cougar Claw has your access to info on the exclusive features of Battlefield 4.

As of early October, IGN reports that Battlefield 4 is vastly out performing Call of Duty Ghost in terms of pre-orders, which is an amazing turnaround from two years ago.  Throughout the battlefield series you’ve had the same choice in four classes being Assault, Engineer, Recon and Support, but the way they operate on the battlefield has been changed quite drastically.

All of the classes now have access to carbines, PDW’s and battle rifles which means if you wanted to play as an Engineer with a scoped M14 that you could now do so with a gun that was originally reserved for the recon class in Battlefield 3.

Probably the two classes with the biggest changes are the Recon class and the Support class, the changes include C4 being introduced to the Recon classes arsenal along with motion balls being brought back from Battlefield Bad Company 2 and hand held SOFLAM’s making them a lot harder to take out considering the SOFLAM in battlefield 3 was a stationary target and not very affective but are in high hopes for Battlefield 4.

To balance the heavy changes from Support to Recon, the Support class now has heavy grenade launchers like the XM25 which fires airburst grenades which many think will supplement for mortars.
Worth noting that now vehicles take specific damage to the area which it was hit meaning if you wanted to slow down a jeep you can shoot out the tires.

Another big change to class balance is that there are now weapons that you can pick up in certain areas of the map, a common feature in games like Halo and Crysis and  the most exciting thing is that one of those weapons is the M82 .50 cal making its first appearance in the battlefield series.  With that aside, DICE has announced the changing of the squad perk system with the new field upgrade system.

How this works is, instead of unlocking a perk as you would in battlefield 3 you will now receive upgrades based on your squads performance determined in game. What makes this a major change is that it puts emphasis on team work a lot more than in Battlefield 3.

Moving on to game modes ,specifically referring to the Alpha demo of the game which ended in early July of this year, reports showed that some people went through the game files and found three new game modes including Playground, obliteration, and elimination but as of right now no information is released in terms of how these new game modes will be played in a multiplayer setting.

But what we do know is that all the game modes in premium Battlefield 3 including scavenger and gun master will be default in Battlefield 4.
