At the start of Spring Break, the national PAX East Convention took place in Boston, Massachusetts. PAX is a convention similar to conventions such as Comic-Con, and Vid-Con. In other words, nerds enjoy these things.

PAX is more of a convention for internet celebrities and is composed of personal and group panels, as well as guest signings. An internet celebrity, Markiplier, or Mark Edward Fishbach along with his YouTube friends and editors had another group panel for his usual, “Markiplier and Friends” PAX panel at PAX East.

This year the group composed of Markiplier, his three best friends Bob, or as YouTube and Twitter know him as muyskerm (my-skerm); Wade (LordMinion777), Tyler, and one of the group’s newest members and editors, a YouTuber named Ethan, or CrankGamePlays. Their performance was composed of improv performances from the group and Q&A’s from the audience and from Twitter.

However, this year’s Markiplier and Friends panel was exciting for one particular reason, Mark has announced starting in June of this year, he and the specific group of friends who were in this year’s panel are going on tour. The touring will be comprised of improv scene performances and games including improv acting depending on a certain word that is chosen.

This is huge for Mark’s channel because he is one of the top four most subscribed YouTuber on the internet and one of the most popular watched people besides, PewDiePie, VanossGaming, and Jacksepticeye. Going on tour will not only expand his love for comedy and getting to try out new things, but will also expand the community from which his YouTube channel has created.

For those who may not know who Markiplier is, he started his YouTube channel out in 2012 with his first channel, “Markiplier,” but due to an issue with AdSense, his original channel was banned. He then created a new channel called, “markiplierGAME.”

Although if you look him up on YouTube, his channel name is, “Markiplier,” instead of, “markiplierGAME.” His channel started out with a horror play of a very well game known as, Amnesia.

His channel is mostly known for a gaming series including Markiplier, and his friends, Wade and Bob; with the occasional invite of other YouTubers such as an English YouTuber named Yamimash, accompanied by Jacksepticeye, also known as, “Drunk Minecraft.” This series really expanded Mark’s channel and is one of his most well-known series, despite its unfortunate end due to a health condition from Mark, on his channel.

But his channel mostly consists of horror game plays and multiplayer breakthroughs with the occasional vlogs.

Mark’s channel also consists of Charity live streams, and skits with his friends. He has combined with other channels such as the Cyndago brothers, which moved him from his original home, Cincinnati, Ohio to L.A., California until the death of one of the three members of the group died.

Mark then took a break from YouTube, remaining in L.A., for one or two months and then made his return to the work he incredibly enjoys doing. Mark now works with Ethan from the Crank Game-Plays channel, his friend Tyler, and his two editors Kathryn and his girlfriend, Amy; as he continues to work with Wade and Bob when they can be able to fly down to visit.

As Mark expands his channel, he also tries new things like daily challenges created by local activities and getting out in public and interacting with his fans in his videos. This is what has brought them to where he is now and why he and his crew are going on tour.

The touring will start out in small towns and will hopefully grow into a more national thing for him and his friends to do.
