Album Review: Compton by Dr. Dre
Dr. Dre released a new album back in August 7th with his other co-stars from the movie Straight Outta Compton.
Simply called, “Compton,” you can hear the different influences in each song.
So the album starts off with an Intro. The Intro is not really a song, but it describes what the album and movie is about. However, the epic storytelling of crime expansion gets the heart pumping and the adrenaline racing.
The second song on the album, “Talk About It,” is a throwback to the original Dr. Dre. Along with his old-school sound, he bashes various artists, including Eminem.
The next song, “Genocide,” was an oddity to say the least. The vocals were hard to understand. In my opinion, it didn’t even sound like English or any other recognizable language.
My personal favorite, “It’s All About Me,” sounds like an old-school rap and features the famous artist, Ice Cube.
“Satisfaction,” another good song, is about the dangers of being rich and corruption.
The album,”Compton,” is okay. There’s an even mix of good songs, bad songs, and mediocre songs, and I only found one to be outstanding.
To conclude, I rate Dr. Dre’s “Compton” a 6/10.
