Last Friday, Hope Squad held a coin drive and had an assortment of decorations for the holiday season. The coin drive also had pictures with Santa, a comfort dog, and Hope Squad members welcoming students to join in and feel included.
The main purpose of the coin drive was to donate back to M-COPE (Montgomery County Overdose Prevention Endeavor), which is a charity that works to speak up about substance use disorder and become advocates to those who may need support and help prevent substance use in the future.
With this being Hope Squad’s first year, they are already bringing positivity and making the school a better place. That being said, included in their holiday photo booth was decorations for different religions and traditions to help every student feel accepted. Hope Squad is going to be doing positive, interactive activities for all students during lunches over the spring as well.
