To create a more supportive and compassionate environment, this year the school is launching a new initiative towards that: Hope Squad. This club aims to equip students with the tools and resources necessary to recognize and respond to signs of distress among their peers.
“I’m excited to have Hope Squad at Tomball High School because I feel like it’s going to show kids that we have resources available for them to get help, and hopefully destigmatize mental health so they know we have the resources and don’t have to suffer in silence”. said Marissa Bobbitt, Hope Squad advisor and Chemistry teacher.
Throughout the year, Hope Squad will take action by bringing positivity around the school by having occasional activities during lunches, being supportive towards others, and spreading kindness throughout the school.
Starting this Friday, Hope Squad will be active during all lunches to create an uplifting welcome to the Thanksgiving season while also introducing the members of Hope Squad.
Make sure to stop by during lunch to contribute to the gratitude tree made by Hope Squad.
