Softball has kept their hot season going with an even hotter start to their playoffs, sweeping through the first two rounds over Waller and Willis to a regional semi-finals appearance and extending their win streak to an impressive 22 straight games.
The girls took on Waller on April 24-25, and came out on top 6-5 and 9-4. The series against Willis was last Wednesday and Thursday where the Coogs won on the road 6-3 and then an electric 6-5 win at home that included Molly McCormack going deep for a 3rd straight game and a 4-run bottom of the 6th capped by a 2-run go-ahead Emma Davis homer.
The team will take on Royse City in a one game regional semifinal this Friday at Lake Belton High School at 6:30 p.m. with hopes of advancing to the regional championship.
Baseball Playoffs are underway and the first round is in the books. The team played against Langham Creek Wednesday and Thursday of last week, and came out on top sweeping the series. The Cougars now move on to Area championship against Willis in hopes to move on to next round and if all goes well advance to state. Tradition Never Graduates and the Coogs wish to maintain the motto going into the next round.
