The Lady Cougars have had a strong start to their year, as they are 3-0 to start district with a total run differential of +15, beating Klein Collins 15-5 then winning their home opener vs Mag West 6-1 and staying hot with a 6-0 win over Klein. The team has had a very strong pitching performance as well as extremely solid offensive output and great situational play.
The girls have a home tournament coming up where they will play Cy Ranch among other teams Friday, then play Klein Oak Tuesday for their next district game.
Girls soccer in tight race for first in district
Girls soccer continued its reign on opponents en route to the top of the district standings after beating Mag West 1-0 and then Klein 2-0. Magnolia also won both of their games, tying with Tomball at 9-1-1 district records however Magnolia holds the tiebreaker as they won the first matchup between the two 1-0.
The girls are getting ready to take on their toughest stretch of the season, as they gear up for playoffs. The four teams in the playoff spots are essentially locked in as there is a large gap between 4th and 5th, however the Cougars sitting at 2nd will travel to play 4th place Klein Oak Friday then host 3rd place Tomball Memorial on Tuesday.
Boys soccer fighting for a spot in playoffs
The boys are deep in the mix of the playoff hunt at 5th place as the end of the season nears. They lost to Mag West 2-0 but beat Klein 3-0 to retake 5th place and sit just one game behind 4th and 3rd place teams Mag West and Klein Collins respectively.
The upcoming matchups are very important to the playoff race as they host Klein Oak Friday and then have Memorial at TISD Stadium on Tuesday. Both games are ones the Cougars need to win.
Baseball wins first district game
Baseball played great in their tournament play last week before they travelled to Klein Collins Tuesday to play their district opener which they won handedly 4-0. The team improved to 4-1 with a win over Santa Fe in the Willis-Montgomery tournament which they will continue play in on Friday and their next district matchup will be when they host Klein Collins on March 4.
