The varsity football team earned the sportsmanship award after becoming finalists for Houston Takedown Club’s annual 20th Anniversary Awards, representing the school. The finalists were selected by referees that cover high school football games in Greater Houston.
“That they had focused on sportsmanship and how it’s an important part of the game,” football player Connor Lowe said.
The event was a formal celebration, as all participants were expected to wear business casual attire, as the FCA also had invited Houston Texans player, Jalen Pitre to be the guest speaker. The event wasn’t just about the sports and the awards, it had another focus.
“It’s pretty exciting our teams able to receive a award that shows how much we love the game and the respect that we have for it and for the other players that we go up against,” Lowe said.
