Girls Soccer has the proverbial train running at full steam and has yet to be knocked off the tracks yet. They improved their record to 5-0-1 in district play after a 1-0 win over Klein Oak and a 0-0 draw to Memorial. Although they have one of the lower scoring outputs and the least total goals of the top five district teams, their amazing play in the back half has been more than enough, only allowing two goals through six games.
They’re upcoming game where they host Magnolia is another big matchup as Mag is tied for second in district at 5-1, and picking up a win would give them breathing room in the district race. They also play Cain on the road Friday, who currently sits at 1-5 in district play.
Girls Basketball doubles down on program sweeps, still eliminated
Girls basketball had a very successful week, going undefeated across all three teams. Varsity beat Mag and Cain 55-25 and 59-34 respectively, JV beat Mag 52-16 and Cain 54-14, and freshman completed the sweep topping both schools 44-14 and 49-10.
Despite their best efforts, the teams ahead of the Cougars in the standings also won, keeping them 2 games back with one game left in the season therefore eliminating them from the playoffs. The girls will play their last game of the season Tuesday on the road at Klein Forest.
Boys Basketball pick up back-to-back wins
The Cougars won both of their matchups last week, program sweeping Magnolia and picking up two wins against Cain on the varsity and freshman levels. Their district record improved to 4-9 on the year.
They play their final games of the season at home against Klein Forest and Klein Collins on Tuesday and Friday.
Boys Soccer falls in standings after disappointing week
Boys soccer had some important matchups as far as teams go, as they were facing schools who were close to or ahead of them in district standings. Freshman continued their dominance and remained undefeated atop the district, beating Oak and Memorial both 3-0. JV tied Oak and beat Memorial. Varsity however tied Oak 1-1 and fell to Memorial 1-3
They are entering the stage where wins are nearly a must as they sit at 6th place in district, and they’ll be looking to secure those wins on the road against Mag on Tuesday, and hosting Klein Cain on Friday
Baseball and Softball fully in action
Both the baseball and softball teams have officially gotten underway, with softball having their first scrimmages on Saturday and Monday and baseball having their first scrimmage Tuesday, all at the Tomball fields. They will be in season and district play soon
