This Friday, the Tomball High School varsity basketball team heads to Klein Cain at 7 pm for what promises to be one of their most winnable games of the season. The Cougars dominated the Hurricanes earlier this season with a commanding victory by more than 30 points.
Adding to the intensity is a rumor of some trash talking from Cain players.
“A player on Klein Cain’s team bet $20 that they would beat us this time,” said varsity player Julian Branch. “That gives a little extra motivation to beat them again. They’re overconfident.”
Confidence has been high among the Tomball squad, and they plan to bring that to close out the season. Out of the three games left in Tomball’s basketball season, this is their last game away from home, so they are determined to silence any doubt and end their travels the right way.
