Everyone knows that varsity teams are always better than the freshmen teams in any sport. However, one freshman took this personally.
This year, the cross country team got hit with a running prodigy, Liam Zimmerman. He’s a freshman who has shown that he is just as fast if not faster than the current varsity team.
“Running has felt the same since I started because as I improved it just hurt less,” Liam said. “It ain’t easy getting here either, you gotta put in the work because you’re just making it difficult for yourself without it.”
He has focused this year on improving his times, steadily getting better as the season goes on.
“You can always improve on your pace, in my case, I’ve been doing it since day one,” he said.
His hard work and dedication can be seen as you can tell that he runs simply for the love of the game.
“Pain isn’t real, it’s just a sensation in your head,” he said. “Once you’re done, you’re done, the pain will go away just as fast as it came.”
