The annual Powder Puff game was held yesterday and was a rousing success. Four quarters of determination from both teams, but the red team followed through with a win. With numerous flags from both teams, tension was at an all-time high.
Marin Nordenstam and Kalina Vela secured touchdowns for the red team, and Katelyn Wiliams secured a touchdown for the white team.
“Watching the team pull through at 110% during every quarter made us unstoppable,” red team senior Natalia Martinez said. “Being able to play football with my friends after watching it in the stand with the band was a super cool experience.”
During halftime, the cheerleaders performed their routine which was definitely a crowd-pleaser. Roxanna Samadi was crowned Powder Puff King and Jose Valasquez was crowned Powder Puff Queen. Martha Johnson was announced as the raffle winner with a prize of $500.
After half-time, both teams locked in for the last half. Megan Zullo from red team and Theresa Gaetz from white team both delivered touchdowns in the second half.
Powder Puff was very successful and was a way for the senior class to come together one more time before graduation.
