The Superintendent’s Fun Run is Saturday, April 12, at the Tomball Event Center. The Fun Run is a 5k (3.1 miles) timed race that is $35 for ages 18+ and $25 for ages 0-18.
Not only is there a 5k run, but there is also a $25 1-mile walk for ages 18+ and $20 for ages 0-18. The run/walk is from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There is also a $10 sleep-in pass that allows support to go toward TISD and allows those who pay for it to sleep in.
The 5k run, includes a t-shirt and a timing chip, but signing up for the 1-mile walk, the t-shirt and bib with a timing chip are not included, but a t-shirt can be added during registration.
Awards will be given to the top 3 runners in each group. The event is open to everyone, including students, staff, and the Tomball community.
Funds generated from the Fun Run are used to cover the costs associated with hosting the run. Any remaining funds are used to support the Tomball Education Foundation and provide incentives to increase employee health and wellness at each campus and department throughout the district.
There is also a Free Festival that includes a Kidzone, student performances, and a health and wellness vendor fair. All inside the Tomball ISD Stadium. The run will be broadcasted on the video board inside the stadium for non-participants who would like to watch the race.
The Kidzone includes inflatables, bounce houses, a toddler soft play area, a rock climbing wall, and face painting. Families are encouraged to attend and bring their little ones to enjoy the community event center in the Tomball ISD Stadium.
The Health and Wellness Vendor Fair is inside the stadium and features local community partners who all support living a healthy lifestyle.
