NJROTC held their Annual Military Inspection on Nov. 19 where they were observed by Area 17 Manager, Commander Johnson. They were graded on their appearance, performance, and leadership capabilities.
Once they started, Cadet Mounteer was called to lead a heartfelt prayer for everyone attending. This was followed by the color guard led by Cadet Mason who presented colors for the national anthem sung by Cadet Mounteer and Cadet Masciola.
Commanding Officer Cadet Hill prepared the company for the inspection phase which was followed by the drill phase.
During the drill phase, cadets competed for Honor Platoon, proving they’ve developed and maintained skills learned from the platoon commanders in the time they’ve been in the program.
After the drill phase the Unarmed and Armed teams performed their exhibition routines for Commander Johnson. Led by Cadet Masciola and Cadet Hill, this led into the annual awards ceremony.
The cadets received the Area Manager’s Outstanding Inspection Award, and promotions for the Platoon Commanders for the hard work they put in this year.
To end this year’s Annual Military Inspection, Alpha 3 was named Honor Platoon for overall performance in knowledge, drill, and appearance.
The senior cadets have a presentation to Commander Johnson and the Chief Academic Officer Dr. Web where they discussed their accomplishments, goals for the unit this year, and briefly talked about their plans for the future.
Upon the completion of the inspections, the other cadets were encouraged to speak with Commander Johnson personally about their plans, and get insight about where they hope the program will head with next year’s senior cadets in mind.
“If I had to choose a cadet staff to lead Area 17, THS NJROTC cadet staff is my choice,” Commander Johnson said, “Tomball NJROTC has set the bar for other units in this area to follow.”
