As we get back into the swing of a new school year there is so much to look forward to from the newspaper program such as changes in the staff, projects, UIL, and how you can make your voice heard.
This year the newspaper program will put out a few print editions with engaging stories, photos, and graphics relevant to what’s going on in school. The first one will be the back-to-school edition that will be coming out in the next couple of weeks. Highlighting the start of football season, what to expect for each grade, dress code, and more, this paper is one to look out for. You can pick up print editions in the red boxes around the school or on the Cougar Claw website.
This year the journalism class and newspaper classes are combined. This creates more diversity in opinions and variety in the projects that will come from the program based on each staffer’s strengths. The website will be regularly updated with stories covering the students of THS. Also expect other kinds of multimedia projects other than stories such as video work, illustrations, and more. There is also a murder podcast coming soon called “Unknown Reason” breaking down the victim of a vicious cold case in Tomball.
The student media program is also very involved in academic UIL and will start getting back into the swing of things at the beginning of the next year. In the meantime, they will practice their skills and prepare for the competitions.
As a student here your voice is important and is worth sharing with the school and community. If you would like to submit something that you want them to cover click here.
Be sure to check the Cougar Claw website regularly to keep up with what’s happening at THS.
