JV Indoor Percussion came back from the Cy-Ranch contest and placed second securing them a spot in the Scholastic Concert A State group. Meaning they will be joining the Varsity group at the TCGC State Championships this weekend, April 13, at the Merrell Center.
JV will be competing against four other groups in hopes to be named the Scholastic Concert A champions, while Varsity will compete against three other groups for the title of Scholastic Concert Open champions.
“I remember looking back on all the effort we had put into these moments and realizing it was finally worth it,” Freshman Skye Mosier said. “We finally reached the goal we had made and I was a part of it.”
They recently restarted their Indoor Percussion group last year after the 2020 season had been interrupted by COVID. Their 2023 show was entitled ‘The Red Thread” and won first at their last contest in WGI Dallas.
This year the group divided into two. JV’s show is entitled “Duality” and is made up of not only high schoolers but also eighth and seventh grade junior high students from both Tomball JH and Creekside Park JH. The Varsity group consists of only high schoolers and their show is entitled “Altered State”.
