Coming back for the 2024 contest season, Tomball Indoor Percussion rolls out with two groups; Varsity and JV and are competing at the Pasadena Memorial TCGC contest this Saturday, Feb. 3.
JV is in the Percussion Scholastic Concert A division at 11:26 a.m. against six other schools; Bellaire, Bridge City, Sam Rayburn, Madisonville, Texas City, and Magnolia West. Their show is entitled Duality and with a section being performed this week called Power Struggle, written by Nathan Daugherty.
Varsity will be competing in the Percussion Scholastic Concert Open division at 12:15 p.m. against three other schools; Klein Collins, Clements, and Magnolia. This years show is entitled Altered State with original music written and composed by David Curtis.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here. Due to the rain all warm ups will be inside with the performance area being in the gym.
“With this being the seniors last year the bar is definitely high especially after the successful season we had last year,” said senior William Klein. “Our show sounds really cool especially with the different elements we’re adding.”
