The THS 2016 Talent Show was held on February 4th and 5th. The show was split into three categories for scoring: Solo Vocal, Group Vocal, and Variety/ Instrumental.

The first place winner for the Variety/ Instrumental category of this year’s show was Danny Jordan, who played Bloch Meditation on the viola.

“I was honestly so surprised… I really wasn’t expecting to win.” said Jordan. “But, it was very exciting and very fun.”

Katie Pavlas placed first in solo vocal with her performance of Valerie by Amy Winehouse on her ukulele.

The Talent Show got “KEM’D” when Katie Pavlas, Emma Jaud, Maggie Light, and Danny Jordan won first place in group vocal for their band’s multi-instrumental performance of American Boy by Estelle.

Evelyn Hernandez placed second in solo vocal with her performance on the piano of Oceans by Hills United, and Emma Jaud placed third for solo vocal with her performance of City Dove by Tori Kelly on the guitar.

The band, Forrester (Will Anderson, Freddy Chaykoski, Jullian Joseph, Melanie Lester) placed second in group vocal, and Madi Lantrip and Austin Lorenz’s performance of Radioactive by Imagine Dragons placed third.

Dylan Morgan and Rebecca Kortz placed second in variety for Dylan’s Hula Hoop Act, and the THS Percussion Ensemble placed third in variety for “Talkin’ Trash”.
