This year, instead of having a short few days for Thanksgiving break, students will have a full week off for the holiday.
The school board was able to allot the students the longer break by changing the length of the first two six-week grading periods. Instead of the grading periods being six weeks long, each is going to be shortened by one week, thus making each period only five weeks long.
Also, there will not be any extra days off or three-day-weekends between Labor Day and Thanksgiving Week. Those extra days will be added to the beginning of Thanksgiving break.
The break runs from Nov. 24-28.
