Are you interested in engaging in hands-on projects that involve crafting decorative items and home decor, or designing clothing? Do you enjoy tackling intricate patterns? If so, the crocheting and knitting club might be the perfect fit for you.
The club convenes every Friday in room 2210 from 3 to 4 p.m.. Attendees can enjoy snacks during the meetings, and participation is open to all grade levels. The club focuses on two primary needlework techniques: knitting and crochet.
Crochet involves creating fabric by interlocking loops of yarn with a crochet hook while knitting connects loops or stitches of one continuous thread using large needles.
“I’ve already learned how to do a single crochet and now I’m perfecting my double crochet knot. I’m excited to start making projects,” Dairen Acosta said.
Engaging in these activities can help alleviate stress and anxiety, boost self-esteem, and slow cognitive decline, among other benefits. If you are interested in purchasing supplies, here is a list of recommended items:
* Yarn (any color)
* Crochet hook (4.25-5mm)
* Carrying case
* Darning needle.
