Tim Cifelli-Volmer inspires students at through engaging science instruction and hands-on learning. His dedication to education helps students develop a deeper understanding of the subject.
Science was his favorite class in high school, leading him to pursue a career in education. He now teaches dual credit biology, chemistry, and anatomy, sharing his love for science and his curiosity about how things work.
“I love watching students have that ‘aha’ moment when they finally understand something challenging,” Cifelli-Volmer said.
He ensures all course material relates to students personally, using examples of things they have seen before but may not have fully understood. His goal is to make science more accessible and engaging by showing its relevance to everyday life.
“Science is all about asking questions and seeking answers. I want my students to be excited about discovery,” Cifelli-Volmer said.
Recently, he was recognized with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. He credits his success to working with a strong team dedicated to improving the science department at Tomball High School.
“It’s nice to be acknowledged, but I work with a great team,” Cifelli-Volmer said.
