Thursday was the 35th annual Mr. Debonair pageant, with William Palombo walking away with the crown.
This yearly event started in 1989 and become a way for senior boys to come together and showoff their looks, talent, and abilities. This year’s event featured a Ken and Barbie theme, and students were competing for a $100 scholarship to the runner up and $150 to the winner.
Ten boys competed against each other last Thursday to see if they are truly Keough, these are the following who competed:
- Keegan Kouznetsov
- Paul Borchers
- Patricio Duran
- Samuel Salcedo
- William Klein
- William Palombo
- Alek Alvarez
- Jacob Barnett
- Kyle Sheppard
- Isaac Congas
The boys are first presented walking with their female escorts, while being read a bio that best describes themselves. After this introduction, the boys present a talent that they feel best representatives their Keough abilities. After this the top five boys are chosen and go through two treacherous rounds of questioning.
Keegan put on a stand up comedy improv act using his Russian accent. Pato, Paul, and Sam did a DJ act to some club music. William Klein put on upbeat drum act to the song In the air tonight by Phil Collins. Isaac did a parody reenactment of the top gun movie ending with a bass solo. Jacob Barnett dance to Umbrella by Rhianna, Alek played the saxophone, and lastly, William, Kyle, and their friend performed songs in a boy band
Many days prior to the pageant, people could vote for best eyes, best smile, best hair, crowd favorite, and the most Kenergy (most congeniality). The following students are in these winning categories:

- Isaac Congas – best hair
- Samuel Salcedo – best eyes
- Patricio Duran – crowd favorite
- Kyle Sheppard – most Kenergy
After many intense rounds of questions, the judges announce the winners.

“My favorite part of Mr. Debonair was when I was on stage performing my act and making everybody else laugh,” runner up Keegan Kouznetsov said. “I also really enjoyed listening to the other talents perform.”
It’s nice to see senior boys come together and create a fun, interesting, and one ken of a night for the senior class, which helps raise money for future senior events.
“I wasn’t focused to much on winning, I was more focused on performing with my boys,” winner William Palombo said. ” It definitely does feel good to win the crown.”
