The dangers of Halloween
Halloween has always been associated with fun and candy, but it can also be thought of as dangerous.
People often think of razors in candy, or killers lurking in the night when they think of Halloween dangers, but those are as exaggerated as that “true story” tagline at the beginning of a horror movie. If anything, drivers are the real horror tonight.
Officials say kids are twice as likely to be struck by a car on Halloween than any other day.
With the spooky nature of Halloween, and the dark of night, it can leave drivers panicked. Or pedestrians running from a recent fright, right into that speeding car.
The entire night is full of children flooding the streets in the dark, all while pranks are being pulled all over. And the hundreds of hardcore Halloween parties wont help either. Because with each party comes drinking, and people trying to drive home. That makes for some dangerous situations.
So drivers should be very wary if they choose to go out tonight. And people should make sure to try to walk on sidewalks, or the edge of the street. Costumes should include some strips of bright or reflective clothing, or glowing lights.
Parents need to be extra watchful to make sure the screams coming from the children tonight are only in fun.
