Track dominates district meet

Track did well at their district meet in Brenham last Wednesday and Thursday, with the boys track team winning first overall.
Darius Taylor (12th) won 3rd place in the 100 m run, completing it in 11.05 seconds and Faith Allen (12th) won 6th place with 26.41 seconds in the 200 m run.
Zach Bierman (11th) won 3rd place in the 400 m run, finishing it in 51.11 seconds and Sydney Sizemore (11th) finished in 1 min and 1.91 seconds.
In the 800 m run, Caroline Flanagan (9th) won 2nd with 2 min and 27.62 seconds and Barbara Padron (9th) got 6th place with 2 min and 30.16 seconds.
For the last run, the 1600 m, Will Easton (12th) won 10th in 4 min and 50.43 seconds and Jacob Jaffray (11th) won 11th with 4 mins and 53.4 seconds.

In High Jump, Christia Thomas (10th) won 4th at 5′ 2” and Gianna Smith (9th) won 7th at 4′ 8”. Daniel Hopkins (12th) tied for 2nd with a height of 6′ flat.
Ty Stafford again shows off his skill in Polevault by winning 1st at a height of 14′. Rachel Maciejeski (9th) won first at 1st at 9′ 6”, Lizzy Sexton (11th) won 4th at 8′, and Anna Benson (9th) won 7th at 7′.
Miles Marhofer (12th) got 2nd in shotput with a distance of 54′ and 2nd in Discus with a distance of 161′ 1”. Ryder Gage (12th) won 8th in shotput with a distance of 41′ 4.5” and 8th in discus with a distance of 113′ 11”.
For the girls, Riley Cross (11th) won 1st in shotput with a distance of 40′ 7” and 1st in discus with a distance of 112′ 6′. Ashley Ramsey (9th) won 10th in shotput at 29′ 9.5” and 7th in discus at 88′ 10”.
