Did you get an acceptance letter in the past few days from Texas State University? If so, hold off on that celebration.

The school announced Tuesday that a mistake by a third-party mailing service resulted in more than 450 high school students receiving letters telling them they had been admitted. In fact, the students were supposed to get letters saying they had not completed the application process.

While some of those who were sent letters have since completed the process and been admitted, others were rejected by the school. If you received a letter, call the school to verify that you have been admitted.

Texas State has an enrollment of 36,000 students, and is located in San Marcos.
