JV Basketball preps for coming season

The Junior Varsity Basketball team is getting prepared for the season and had 2 test games a couple of weeks ago playing at the Hamilton Middle School against the John Cooper School and Magnolia West.

The first game was against John Cooper High and Tomball won with 59-17. It was a good game from the beginning and the team played together very well. Lew Mologne especially found his rhythm during the game and helped the team earn 16 Points.

The whole game, John Cooper High had no chance to make a come back. The Coach was very satisfied with the team and said, “You guys played like a team and that’s why you won this game!”

The second game against Magnolia West was tougher, and the players recognized that almost immediately.

After the first few minutes, Tomball was down by 10 points. But after halftime they played more aggressively and started a comeback. Cody Hawkins supported the team with important points at the end of the game.

Time was against Tomball, so they lost a  close game with a final score of 29-26. Coach Ball continued to encourage the athletes.

“It was a close game and you guys played with a good effort and attitude, and that’s very important,” Ball said.
