The varsity squad helped finish off a sweep of Caney Creek with Friday night’s 54-26 victory at Conroe’s Moorhead Stadium.

With the JV and Freshman teams already winning on Thursday, the Cougars found themselves with a small lead at halftime before lighting up 30 unanswered points in the second half.

The offense was led by Mason Jones, who threw for two touchdowns, and Tybo Taylor, who ran for 93 yards and added a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The defense was led by Jacob Jenkins, Cameron Comeaux and Michal Marshall.

Next up for the Cougars are the Mayde Creek Rams, with the varsity team playing a Saturday evening game at 6 p.m. at Rhodes Stadium in Katy. Tickets will be on sale this week for $7 for adults, $4 for students.
