The Tomball Cougars’ perfect run is over after undefeated Klein Collins stopped the Cougars 42-0 at Cougar Stadium in Friday night’s homecoming game.
Tomball could manage just 66 yards of total offense, after rolling over its opponents in the first five games. A defense that had been tenacious in its previous games held up well through the first half but eventually just wore down.
Quarterback Justin Dvorak completed 7 of 19 attempts for 41 yards and an interception, and added 13 yards on the ground to lead all rushers.
Tomball will have to regroup quickly, with a road game against Dekaney (5-1) on Friday. After that, the Cougars get back-to-back home games, including one against unbeaten Klein, and finish the season on the road against Klein Forest.
