Can’t afford a yearbook? Help on the way

Yearbooks have never been cheap, and they won’t get cheaper throughout the year. Starting out, a single yearbook is $70 and the price will continue to rise throughout the year.

If you are one of the students who simply can’t afford it, there is a new option.

The yearbook is holding a fundraiser this year, selling “Butter Braids” – a filled pastry that comes frozen and can last in the freezer for two years or more. Last time they were sold, they were very popular.

This time, the staff is opening up the fundraiser to anyone who wants to earn a free yearbook. Anyone who sells 20 loaves of bread gets a free book.

The selling begins in about a week and ends early October, which leaves plenty of time for the orders to come in by the end of October.

If you’re interested in joining the fundraiser, come before or after school to room 1201 and talk to Mr. Fordyce, the head of Student Media. Please note: If you’ve already purchased a book, you can’t get your money back. But if you’re a senior, you can earn a free senior ad instead of the book.
