Ag Competition season coming soon

Have you ever thought about what Ag is? Or what FFA is all about?  The Ag department is a group for people who love to raise animals, are interested in wildlife, and want to know more about it.

All of that and more will be on display this week as the FFA Show opens, and all the participants are going to be showing the animals they’ve been raising since the beginning of the school year. But the Ag program doesn’t end when the last animal is sold.

Shortly after the show, Ag competition season begins. Most FFA kids will transition from raising animals to learning more about animals and plants and using their knowledge to compete against other teams.

Kids from Tomball High School will form teams on different topics such as poultry, dairy cattle, and wildlife. The competitions will start on Feb. 4. This season is a very long one and goes until the very end of April.

Last year saw great success for the program, and the students are determined to continue that legacy this year.
