Prom and its Questions

Prom, it always seems so far away and then it gets here before you’re ready. Time is dwindling away to get a date and get dresses or tuxedos ready. Saturday April the 25th will be here before you know it and at Hyatt North Houston, the seniors will partake in a defining chapter of their high school careers.

Prom is held at Hyatt North Houston because “It’s a great venue for Prom and we’ve held it there for probably the last 8 years,” said assistant principle Mark Vierkant.“It’s got a great ballroom for the dancing, a great outside lobby area for the eating and I like it personally because its downstairs away from the hotel area.”

Many people have questions or concerns for the restrictions on Prom, well Vierkant clears up any questions. “The only real rules we have for people who don’t attend school here are they have to reasonably meet our dress code, if we have guys who are college age with facial hair we won’t stop them from coming but they have to be dressed formally. We do have the restriction that there are no junior high kids, of course I don’t know if anyone would want to bring an 8th grader to Prom. Really, that’s all the guidelines we have. When you buy your tickets I ask your date’s name and what school they attend but there’s not a permission slip or anything,” said Vierkant.

Also make sure that you are safe Prom weekend, make smart decisions and to have fun.
