Student Media selling popcorn at lunch

The Cougar Claw received approval Thursday morning to sell air-popped popcorn at lunch.

Each bag of popcorn costs $1 and is available under the main stairwell, where the Cougar Den coffee shop once was located.

When you purchase your popcorn, there is the option to choose from a variety of seasonings. It is currently on sale every day during lunch.

This fundraiser will help pay for future issues of the Cougar Claw, as well as this year’s yearbook. The replacement is predicted to be more of a success this year than the coffee shop, and expectations are high.

“I think the popcorn sales will make a higher profit than the coffee shop,” said Jynn Schubert, editor of the Cougar Claw. ”At $1 a bag, it tastes better than coffee does and everybody loves popcorn!”

The first $500 made from popcorn sales each month will go to the printing of newspaper, while any sales after that go to the yearbook program.
