Sydney Sizemore: The Tracklete

The THS Track team traveled to Huntsville for their Regional competition recently, where Riley Cross earned 3rd place in Shot Put and Tyler Stafford won 1st in the Pole Vault competition.

However, there is one member of the team who made it to the Regional tournament, but sadly was not successful in advancing to the State competition. This sad truth doesn’t diminish this athlete’s achievements. Her name is Sydney Sizemore, and she is the Pride of Texas.

Throughout the season, Sizemore worked vigorously to improve on her Track abilities. Sizemore was known to always giving credit to her teammates– Morgan Law, Mckenna Law, and others. In reality, Sizemore played just as an important role in every THS sport she’s competed in to date.

“I competed in the 400m dash and the 4 x 4 relay with Marlena Pierce,”  Sizemore said.“But we didn’t make it to state. Those girls were really fast!”

Regardless, Sizemore and her teammates were still successful at the Final and Area competitions, a feat not to be forgotten.

Due to this athlete’s hard work and humility, Sydney Sizemore is truly the “The Pride of Texas.”
