Have you ever just flopped in the couch with nothing else to do? Ever found yourself browsing countless pages and apps only to realize that they are the exact same things you have been watching for months now?

While school work and other activities certainly are time consuming, more often than not we can find ourselves bored of going through the same routine over and over again. A good way to spend all those empty hours is attending book club here at Tomball High School and discussing a variety of books and novels chosen by you.

Book Club is an activity that will be filled with debates, discussions and fun conversations. For those of you that know Jessica Nazer, the Book Club sponsor, you will be familiar with how easy flowing and entertaining lessons can go.

This will definitely not be the exception since in the book club the participants are encouraged to talk and share their ideas no matter how out of this world or strange they might be. Not only that, but with each meeting comes a series of snacks that you can share with your peers. (Not to mention that there is always pizza.)

Book Club meetings vary in date and length depending the book and how long it takes to read it. However, one thing for sure is that they start right after school and they can stretch out for as long as needed, in other words, the students gets to decide for long the meeting should last.

This is an activity in which student finally get to take an initiative and instead always receiving the lesson by the teacher, they now get to lead the class to show how much they understand a topic.

For those interested in joining the Book Club you can talk with Nazer in room 2213 and after agreeing to all the terms and paying a small $5 fee you can join the book club. The book that the club has just begun reading is “The Truth about the Harry Quebert Affair” and it is still not too late to join this discussion.

Next meeting for this book will be on Jan 27 in which time the book will have to be finished. For those of you that want to wait until the next book you can wait until around Feb 31 for the next book to be chosen.
